The charts present how an Austrilian family use energy in daily life and the level of greenhouse gas emissions caused by this pattern.
As can be seen from the charts, heating takes 42% of energy use in an Austrilian household and thie produces 15% of greenhouse gases.The second and third part of energy use are water heating and other appliances, which consume 30% and 15% of energy respectibely, causing 3/5 greenhouse gas emissions in total.
Though refrigeration does not ues too much energy (only 7%), it releases 14% of greenhouse gases, nearly the same percentage of heating. Cooling and lighting consume a low level of energy use at 2% and 4%, their proportion of producing greenhouse gases takes 11% in total.
To sum up, water heating and other appliances create most greenhouse gases. Dispite it consumes a lot of energy, heating produces comparatively low level of greenhouse gases, while refrigeration is facing the opposite situation.

Nowadays, there have been a lot of arguments about how to teach children to have a decent value. Among all the debates, some people think punishment is an effective method. This article mainly discusses about whether punishment is necessary and what kind of punishment is adequate.
To start with, punishment is indeed one of the most common ways to tell children the distinction between good and bad behaviours. Adults tend to give rewards when children behave well. Accordingly, when children do something wrong, here comes the punishment. This “carrot and stick” way gives kids a deeper memory and specific experience about the lesson. More importantly, by puniching then, children learn the idea that they should take responsibilities for their behaviours.
In addition, it is also of great significance for parents and teachers to use appropriate type of punishment. Punishments should be related to the mistake made by children. Otherwise they do not make any sense and children will get confused. For instance, if a boy steals a candy from his classmate, parents should demand him spend his own money buying candies and giving to other students. Parents and teachers need to understand that punishment is not the goal but only an approach to let children recognise the right and wrong. Thus, it needs to be meaningful and made by reason, not by emotion.
In conclusion, punishments have some positive impacts on telling children what is right and what is wrong. When it comes to the type of punishments, parents and teachers should make careful and reasonable choices.
