Question:
Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?

To improve the quality of education, universities should spend money on salaries for university professors.

Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
For most people, the more money they can earn, the harder they are willing to work. Nevertheless, university professor is a little special occupation. In my opinion, there is no direct connection between professors\\\' salaries and the quality of education. For university professors, there are other incentives that can encourage them to improve the quality of education.
Of course universities should pay for professors\\\' labour of teaching students. But for professors, high salaries cannot make them teach harder. For example, professors in my university are paid high salaries. But some of them work hard and teach students responsibly, others just read handouts and leave as soon as the class is over. If a professor can get a high salary from school easily, why does he need to work harder? It is enthusiasm that really motivates professors. If they really love their fields and want to teach students all of his knowledge, they will work harder spontaneously.
Second, even though the professors work harder, the quality of education will not be certainly improved. There are many elements influencing educational quality, such as the equipment of a university\\\'s laboratory, the scale of the university\\\'s book stock and so on. For example, a professor who has taught me English literature is an enthusiastic person and he always recommended some books to us. But we could not get most of them from the university\\\'s library. We did not have convenient access to these books so the quality of education was influenced in some degree.
Admittedly, some professors may be motivated by high-paid salaries to work harder. But if they teach just for money and don\\\'t have any enthusiasm, students will not get any beneficial knowledge from them because they will force students to learn by rote instead of communicating ideas with students.
In a nutshell, universities should pay professors salaries. But in order to improve the quality of education, they need to take measures to stimulate professors\\\' enthusiasm.
