People have differentviews on whether children observe parents and teachers’ regulations.
Some people believe thatchildren, especially elementary school pupils, are still at the stage offorming their cognition and personality so that rules are obliged for childrento abide by when at school or home. In other words, in their socially formativeyears, children need rules to help them to learn appropriate behavior, such astable manners and polite behavior in the classroom. More importantly, safetyrules can protect from dangers. For example, playing fire is not required bothat school and home. Regulations at school can also make children understandthat they are accountable for their own actions.  For instance, bullying at school shall beseverely punished.
However, others argue thatchildren need more freedom and encouragement to challenge traditional lawsincluding school regulations, and to explore their potentials at their veryyears. That is to say, an overly strict environment may restrict children’s creativityand free thinking. Seldom could students foster the traits of critical thinkingwithout raising any concerns on what teachers are taught in class. Hardly couldchildren learn to make their own decisions on what they want to learn and whatthey want to be in future by obeying all the plans made by parents. Rarelycould young people live and work as what they really expect or interest withoutcultivating their personal hobbies in the school years. Thus, rules may reducethe opportunities for children to develop independence and individuality.
Therefore, my own opinionis that teachers and parents should try to provide children with a reasonablebalance between rules and freedom. On the one hand, children should be taughthow to act responsibly. On the other hand, parents and children allow childrento make mistakes and encourage them to learn from their mistakes.
